Board and Governance
Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) has a commitment to strong, effective governance. We are an independent not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.
A membership based organisation, NQPHN is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.
The NQPHN Board is a skills-based Board, which has five key committees. All committees have levels of delegated authority for core decision making.
Clinical Quality and Governance Committee
This committee provides strategic advice, assurance, and oversight of clinical governance, commissioning quality, commissioned service performance, and clinical risk management.
Finance, Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee
This committee assists the Board in overseeing financial performance, risk management, audit activities, internal controls, compliance obligations, and organisational assurance processes.
Nominations and Remuneration Committee
This committee provides oversight of Board composition, director recruitment, succession planning, Board performance and remuneration matters, and makes recommendations to the Board and Members regarding Director appointments and governance capability.

People, Culture and Community Committee
This committee provides strategic advice, assurance, and oversight in relation to organisational culture, people and workforce matters, Member, stakeholder and community engagement, and people-related risks.
Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Committee
This committee provides strategic advice, assurance, and foresight to the Board regarding technology, innovation, and sustainability, with a focus on future-facing risks, opportunities, digital governance, and organisational sustainability.
