Our end-of-year GP Clinical Exchange, An Evening with Mental Health, is designed for GPs and primary care clinicians and presented by local mental health specialists, addressing:
- Local referral pathways, support services and hospital programs available to support patients experiencing mental health concerns across the Far North Queensland region
- Practical, evidence-based approaches to assessment and management of mental health presentations commonly encountered in primary care, including when and how to escalate or refer for specialist support
- Opportunities to strengthen collaboration between primary care and specialist mental health services, including improving understanding of local service roles, referral expectations and shared care
- Interactive discussion and Q&A, providing primary care clinicians with an opportunity to raise questions, discuss challenging presentations and explore practical approaches to supporting patients and families in the community.
