Theory and Clinical Foundation (Day 1)
8.30am – 4.30pm
- Scope of practice and responsibilities
- Identify viable vs non-viable tissue
- Comprehensive client assessment
- Contraindications and informed consent
- Pain control before, during, and after
- Tissue types: fat, tendon, muscle, bone
- When to refer or seek specialist input
- Respond to adverse events and bleeding
- Build debridement into the care plan
- Post-debridement dressings
- Compare debridement methods
Practical Skills and Simulation (Day 2)
9am – 4.30pm
- Select and use correct equipment safely
- Set up and maintain a sterile field
- Clinical/surgical skills in CSWD sessions
- Quizzes, activities and case studies
