Children by Choice is excited to announce that we are bringing our Supporting Reproductive Choice training to Cairns!
This full day, in-person training helps equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to provide informed, compassionate reproductive care, grounded in respect, patient autonomy, and evidence-based practice. Together we will explore important topics shaping reproductive healthcare today, including the impact of reproductive coercion and abuse, and how abortion stigma impacts both patients and providers. The session also highlights the importance of offering inclusive, non-directive pregnancy options so that every person can access care that is respectful, supportive, and centred on their needs.
Participants will take part in facilitated values clarification activities designed to encourage thoughtful reflection and open discussion. There will also be an opportunity to connect and network with other professionals working across the reproductive and sexual health space. By the end of the training, participants will leave with practical tools and insights to help create safe, affirming clinical environments and support people navigating complex reproductive decisions. Our aim is to strengthen understanding, challenge stigma, and empower healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality reproductive healthcare.
No tickets left?! No problem! We are hosting a SECOND DAY of the same exciting training on Saturday, 1st of August, at the same location in Cairns. Open to both Queensland Health employees as well as private and community partners, head here to learn more about this event.
