Relationship First: Engaging Young People in Meaningful Diabetes Care webinar

You are invited to join our webinar series, “Wellbeing Matters: Supporting Young People Living with Diabetes”, where we will be exploring topics designed to inform, inspire, and spark meaningful discussion. The series is delivered as part of the INSPIRE youth type 2 diabetes (YT2D) study, led by A/Prof Renae Kirkham at the DIABETES across the LIFECOURSE: Northern Australia Partnership.

Trust matters in diabetes care for young people. Hosted by Senior First Nations Research Fellow, Val Wallace, this webinar will feature a dynamic discussion with guest presenters, Adam Drake and Natalie Leysley, looking at how strong relationships with young people and their families can support their wellbeing and improve their care. Participants will learn practical ways to build trust, communicate better, and support resilience, helping young people manage their diabetes and their emotional wellbeing. Drawing on evidence and real-world experience, the session shows how strong relationships lead to better healthcare experiences and better outcomes for young people.
