Presenter profiles
Reema is a health service leader with more than 15 years of experience across public and community health, program management, service design and health system development in Australia and internationally.
With an academic background in Medicine and a Post-Graduation Diploma and a Master of Public Health, Reema has worked across government-funded health and wellbeing programs, community-based services and international public health initiatives. Her experience includes work with the World Health Organisation in Geneva and UNICEF in India, alongside senior leadership roles within the Australian and International community health sector.
Reema currently serves as General Manager – Carer Gateway and Navigation Services at North & West Remote Health, where she leads federally and regionally funded programs across rural, remote and very remote Queensland. Her work spans contractual and financial performance, service design, quality and governance, workforce leadership, stakeholder engagement and the development of service models tailored to the needs of diverse communities.
Throughout her career, Reema has been particularly interested in identifying gaps between people’s needs and the systems designed to support them, and in developing practical, sustainable services that make those systems easier to navigate.
Phil is a registered psychologist in Australia, with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Germany. He brings extensive experience across mental health service delivery, clinical governance, psychology practice and health service leadership.
As Executive Manager – Mental Health and Wellbeing at North & West Remote Health, Phil provides strategic and operational leadership across mental health and wellbeing services, with a strong focus on clinical quality, governance, service development and sustainable models of care.
Phil brings a valuable combination of clinical knowledge and senior management experience, with an understanding of the complexities involved in delivering high-quality health services across diverse communities and service environments. His experience includes supporting multidisciplinary clinical teams, strengthening clinical governance and quality systems, and ensuring services remain responsive to both client needs and contractual and professional requirements.
Phil is passionate about authentic, high-quality service delivery and believes that people should never be reduced to numbers within a system. His approach is grounded in ensuring people feel heard, seen and understood, while building services that respond meaningfully to individual needs and experiences.
