FREE education session for families and friends, delivering information to those supporting someone using alcohol and drugs.

This workshop will cover:

Drug and alcohol information

  • Harm minimisation.
  • Types of legal and illegal drugs.
  • Effects and risks of drug use.
  • How drugs are taken.
  • Dependence and withdrawal.

Drug and alcohol treatment options

  • What families need to know about treatment.
  • Family, friends, and supporters expectations of treatment.
  • Treatment options: types of treatment available.
  • What happens in treatment and how people change.
  • What families can do when their person is in treatment.

Presented by Family Drug Support – a national, non-religious not-for-profit charity.

Coffee, tea, and a sweet treat will be provided

Each Stepping Forward session is designed so that you will have something of value to take away to help you on your journey. Everyone is welcome to attend one or more sessions.
