A/Prof Kiarna Brown
- A/Prof Kiarna Brown is a First Nations Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Clinical Associate Professor at Charles Darwin University, and Co-Lead of the Maternal Health Program at Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin. A proud Territorian with Wuthathi and Gurindji heritage, A/Prof Brown is committed to improving maternal and infant health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through culturally safe, community-led care and research. Her clinical and research interests include preterm birth prevention, improving access to quality antenatal care, digital health innovation, and translating evidence into practice to improve outcomes for women and babies living in remote and regional Australia.
Professor Jonathon Shaw
- Prof Shaw is Deputy Director, Clinical Science at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, where his research focuses on epidemiology and clinical research in diabetes, and he is also a consultant physician in the diabetes services. He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 35 book chapters. He is the Chair of the Diabetes Advisory Group to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Council member of the Australian Diabetes Society, and a Past- President of the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group.
