Incorrect Bicillin dosing in BP Premier

This is an important update from Best Practice Software regarding notification of a potential issue affecting Bp Premier customers with repeat prescription and Work Cover Certificates for Queensland

Repeat Prescription

Best Practice Software has identified a potential issue when re-prescribing Benzathine Benzylpenicillin G (available as Bicillin L-A in Australia) for the previously expressed 900mg/2.3ml dose, which is incorrectly replaced with the 600,000 unit/1.17ml dose as opposed to the 1,200,000 units/2.3ml dosage.

Best Practice Software recommends ceasing the current prescription and creating a new prescription for the appropriate value until this is resolved in their December Data Update.

Work Cover Certificate

Best Practice Software has identified that the signing certificate for Queensland Workcover has expired.

Team Bp is working on a resolution and hopes to release this shortly, as an interim solution Team Bp recommends manually processing Workcover claims.

Action: please circulate this communication to relevant members of your practice.

Support is available: for further information or advice on this notification, contact the Software Support team on 1300 40 1111 (in Australia), or 0800 40 1111 (in New Zealand), selecting Bp Premier product at the menu.
