Connecting carers to local support services

Carer Gateway is a national support service funded by the Australian Government. It provides free services for anyone caring for a family member or friend who has a disability, mental health condition, chronic health condition, terminal illness, or is frail aged.

Wellways Australia provides Carer Gateway services throughout Queensland.

Services include:

  • Counselling
  • Peer support 
  • Planning and Practical Assistance
  • Planned and Emergency Respite
  • Online support

Carers can register for Carer Gateway by calling 1800 422 737 or by visiting www.carergateway.gov.au.

Wellways Carer Gateway is available 6am-10pm, 7 days a week. Emergency respite is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1800 422 737.
