Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) invites nurses working in Urgent Care Clinics and primary care settings in the Mackay region to participate in an upcoming two-day, skills-focused Urgent Care Training workshop.
In this workshop, nurses will refresh and extend their skills in clinically important areas of the Urgent Care environment, including patient assessment, triage, recognising and responding to deterioration, cannulation, catheterisation, burns management, paediatric assessment, and splinting.
This workshop includes skills sessions on:
- Clinical assessment and clinical handover
- Triage, recognising and responding to clinical deterioration
- IV cannulation
- Indwelling catheter (IDC) insertion
- Management of burns
- Paediatric assessment, triage and red flags
- Splinting and basic fracture management
Places for this workshop will be limited. Submission of an EOI does not guarantee a place but will be used to gauge interest, inform final participant numbers and workshop scheduling.
