First 2000 Days Framework

The first 2,000 days of life are critical for shaping lifelong health, development, and wellbeing.

The First 2,000 Days Framework sets out a coordinated approach to supporting families — from pre-conception through to a child’s fifth birthday — and identifies the system enablers needed for effective maternal and child health services.

Developed in partnership with communities and stakeholders, the framework will guide planning, commissioning, and service delivery across northern Queensland to help ensure every child gets the best start in life.
