Key responsibilities
- Examine patients and take medical histories
- Diagnose illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Prescribe medications and treatments
- Perform minor surgical procedures and medical interventions
- Provide emergency and urgent medical care
- Monitor patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Refer patients to medical specialists when required
- Administer vaccinations and immunizations
- Conduct health screenings and preventive care assessments
- Counsel patients on health, lifestyle, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Complete medical certificates and statutory reports
Requirements
- Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience as a GP
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
- Understanding of Medicare and Australian healthcare system preferred
