Wheels of Wellness (WoW) Ltd is a progressive, values-driven not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing free, person-centered primary healthcare to Cairns’ most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. Our highly motivated team of health professionals and volunteers deliver holistic medical, allied health, and social-emotional support—ensuring every individual feels welcome, heard, and empowered in their healthcare journey.

We provide care through a unique service model, combining mobile outreach and fixed clinic services, staffed by GPs, Indigenous Health Practitioner/Workers, Registered Nurses, Mental Health Nurse and a Social Worker.

As a VR General Practitioner at WoW, you’ll provide primary healthcare to people facing complex social and health challenges, including those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, and poverty.

About you

Ideally we’re looking for a compassionate and experienced GP who is:

  • Vocationally Registered (VR) with 5+ years’ experience
  • Skilled in Indigenous Health, Chronic Disease, or Mental Health
  • Comfortable working with vulnerable populations
  • Experienced in Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) billing
  • Committed to clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and community health.
