The highly successful Mater eConsultant program has been funded by the LNP government to expand statewide.
The service is free and is available for 12 specialties with a mean response time of 1.8 days for requests for advice and no catchment limits. Face-to-face outpatient appointments are avoided in 77 per cent of cases and GP surveys indicate a change to patient care in 66 per cent of cases.
Requests for advice are auto-populated from Best Practice and Medical Director with access via a portal for those with other practice software.
Program lead and GP, Prof Claire Jackson, will discuss the service and the Consultmed platform will be demonstrated.
