The Speech Pathologist for the Ayr clinic will be an individual who seeks to join a team of like-minded Allied Health Professionals to uphold the vision of RAR Therapy - Making a difference, because every person matters. They will embody the values of Integrity, Working Together, Willingness and Courageous Wisdom in their delivery of quality Speech Pathology services with the support of the local multidisciplinary team and supervisory support from an experienced Speech Pathology Leader based in Townsville.

This position has traditionally delivered services to a paediatric caseload and is supported with many and varied opportunities to learn and grow in professional development across the lifespan if this aligns with the interests of the successful applicant.

Children and families with varied diagnoses access this service and the successful applicant will deliver services in a flexible manner utilising varied therapeutic approaches which align with strengths based, family centered practice and are evidence based. The Doctors Bushland Beach's clinical services are the cornerstone of its role as a beacon of health and well-being in this scenic coastal region. The hours of work are between Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and professional practice nurse to join our team. At The Doctors Bushland Beach, we pride ourselves on our workplace culture, team-based care, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications and experience

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Adaptable and open to change and innovation.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Previous experience in general practice.
  • Knowledge of childhood and adult immunisations.
  • Experience in chronic disease management.
  • Computer skills (previous experience in Best Practice would be highly desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to multi-task with workflow of a treatment room.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Patient triage.
  • Immunisations and other injections
  • ECG’s and ear syringing.
  • Wound management procedures and supporting GPs during minor surgeries.
  • Care plans, health assessments, and supporting patients with chronic illnesses.
  • Equipment sterilisation.
  • Pre-employment assessment drug screening.
  • Audiometry and spirometry.
  • Supporting reception staff, when needed.
