Preparing for COVID-19
COVID-19 safety considerations
You should consider how your practice will continue to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
Consider safety measures such as:
- Screening staff, contractors, customers, and other visitors to the workplace for COVID-19 symptoms
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date employee timesheets and records of attendance, such as through a virtual or physical sign-in
- Maintaining current contact details for employees so they can be notified if a colleague tests positive
- Appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff in close contact with symptomatic patients
- Using physical resources to reduce contact, such as PPE, screen barriers, hand cleaning stations at reception, and hand sanitiser in bathroom facilities
- Regular cleaning and disinfection of the practice in accordance with current guidelines
- Assessing and improving natural and mechanical air ventilation where possible
