The Registered Nurse is responsible for working with clinical staff to improve the standard of health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision of culturally valid, holistic primary health care services.

The successful applicant will hold a nursing degree together with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Queensland immunisation endorsement. Recent practical experience within a community health setting is highly desirable.

Great opportunity for experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses at a reputable Medical Centre in Belgian Gardens, who are looking for a long term Nurse to join our busy team. 

Our surgery is fully accredited and we are committed to the management of urgent conditions without delay, whilst maintaining a high standard of care to our patients in a professional and caring environment.

The successful candidate should be fully qualified with a desire for General Practice. We are committed to ongoing training and will assist you in getting the additional qualifications for General Practice Standards.

Excellent communication, team player and excellent time management skills are necessary with a particular emphasis on patient care and safety.  The candidate should have an understanding and respect of health and safety in the workplace and be able to work independently. The candidate should work well in a team, but also be capable in an independent setting. You will be expected to be able to work alone with 4-6 Doctors on a daily basis, while we continue to expand our team, so efficiency is key, while maintaining our high standards of care and following Policies and Procedures. 

Our Nurses are expected to be competent and assist GP's in:

  • Wound care
  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Coordinated Veterans Care Program
  • Childhood Immunisations 
  • Flu and Covid Vaccinations & Clinics
  • Travel and other General Vaccinations
  • General Observations
  • Ear Syringing
  • Drivers Licence Medicals
  • Aviation Medicals (advantage but not necessary) 
  • Mirena, Implanon and Implants
  • Iron Infusions and Venesection's
  • ECG, Spirometry
  • Recall's and Reminder's
  • Vaccine & Consumable Ordering
  • Cold Chain Management and Breach notification 
  • Updating Practice Policies and Procedures.

You will also be required to provide your:

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Current CPR and First Aid (or willing to obtain).
  • Medical indemnity insurance.
  • Cannulation Certificate (advantage but not necessary).
  • Independent Nurse Immuniser Certificate (advantage but not necessary).

We are a busy, fully booked 9 Doctor Practice, together with a supportive nursing, administration, and management team. We have a very loyal patient database and take great pride in the care of our patients. Our patients are used to our team always delivering a friendly, caring, and professional service.
