About the role

This role will involve facilitating high quality, efficient, and person-centred Occupational Therapy services for our clients to achieve social and economic participation in their community. This role is also accountable for supporting service development and clinical supervision within the Occupational Therapy Service.  

Neuro-Rehabilitation experience would be preferred to lead and implement our new centre based services, however not essential.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • lead and collaborate within a therapeutic support framework to help clients with complex allied health needs achieve their goals and improve community participation
  • provide individualised, person-centered, strength-based OT services
  • develop, implement, and review therapy plans with clients, families, carers, and service providers
  • complete therapeutic reports, functional assessments, and information gathering
  • manage sensitive enquiries and specialist services for complex clients
  • support new client acquisition and meet billable hours targets
  • develop clinical skills and engage in personal development
  • build partnerships to enhance OT services at Royal Rehab LifeWorks
  • mentor and support less experienced team members
  • conduct clinical supervision and identify learning needs
  • collaborate with the Allied Health Manager and senior clinical team to support Royal Rehab LifeWorks strategy and drive service growth
  • promote and lead occupational therapy services.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA. 
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working with people with a disability who may have a range of complex and challenging support needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experiences in the development and implementation of occupational therapy assessment and intervention strategies in a disability context. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop plans, practices, and procedures.  
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience to provide support and supervision to other staff. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including problem solving and negotiation skills. 
  • Neuro-Rehabilitation experience preferred.

About the role

This full-time role as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthcare Worker offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in your local community. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing culturally appropriate primary care services to Indigenous patients. Your work will focus on improving health outcomes and empowering patients to manage their wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering primary healthcare services to Indigenous patients, including health assessments, treatment and referrals.
  • Providing health education and promoting prevention to support patients in managing their conditions.

What we're looking for
