  • Full time, fixed term to 30 June 2025
  • $83,145 - $90,201
  • Based in Cairns

The Outreach Generalist Health Worker, Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) works with the RHD team in caring for RHD clients and their families and assists in delivering education and support to families at risk of RHD.

Wuchopperen is a Community Controlled Aboriginal Health Organisation providing holistic health care services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Cairns.

  • Casual Positions
  • Based in Cairns and Edmonton
  • Pay rate $56.88 - $68.43 per hour (inclusive 25% casual loading)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for working with clinical staff to improve the standard of health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision of culturally valid, holistic primary health care services.

The successful applicant will hold a nursing degree together with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Queensland immunisation endorsement. Recent practical experience within a community health setting is highly desirable.

The Generalist Health Worker will work with clients to provide culturally appropriate and holistic primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of Cairns and surrounding districts, including education and promotion, development and implementation of early intervention strategies, and clinical screening protocols.
