Part or full-time doctors are required to join a happy and vibrant medical practice at Ingham. Remuneration is 60% of receipts or $55.00 per hour for the first 12 weeks, whichever is greater, plus 60% of Service Incentive Payments (negotiable). AHPRA registration and a minimum two-years medical work experience is required.

Ingham Family Medical Practice is on the highway at the northern end of town. It is a purpose-built building and has been operating for 30 years. Formerly known as Ingham Medical Centre, it is now operating as Ingham Family Medical Practice and has been since 2005. Currently, there are three (3) full time doctors, and the practice are looking to recruit further doctors. The practice principal, Dr Brett Scott, is a college examiner for ACCRM and RACGP, a trainer for John Flynn and James Cook University, and supervisor to interns who rotate every 10 weeks from The Townsville Hospital. Dr Scott holds Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, and has much Paediatric and Emergency medicine experience. The practice offers audiometry, spirometry, skin checks, and ECGs. They do a variety of health checks and medicals. Sullivan and Nicolaides Pathology are on site, as well as Rural Medical Imaging who provide CT, USS, and x-rays. They have visiting allied health services such as a podiatrist, an audiologist, a dental prosthetist, a diabetes educator, and visiting orthopaedic surgeon. Registered and enrolled nurses provide continuous medical officer support, as well as performing pap smears, asthma, and diabetes education. Ingham Family Medical Practice are a registered Q-fever and yellow fever vaccination centre, as well as providing the usual private and NHS vaccinations. Visits to their patients at nursing homes are undertaken, and a good relationship exists with all three facilities in the area. As a practice, they have regular social evenings and family outings.
