Rockhampton Hospital is seeking a Senior Medical Officer (GP with Special Interest - Rheumatology)

Rockhampton Hospital, a 305-bed facility, is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. It offers specialist services such as Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, and more. Visiting specialists from tertiary hospitals also provide additional care. The hospital’s new Cancer Care Unit features advanced equipment for local patients. Other key hospitals in the region include Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, and Biloela, with smaller rural units transferring patients to Rockhampton for specialist treatment.

About the role

The successful candidate will join a specialist rheumatology team and help to deliver a new, high-quality outpatient service within their scope of clinical practice granted by the Credentialing Committee in the Rockhampton Hospital and Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) facilities in which they perform this work.

Salary information

Total remuneration value of up to $77,343 per annum is comprised of:

  • an hourly rate between $91.84 - $100.78/h. (L13 – L18)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading.
