Paediatric Palliative Care Service & the QuoCCA project present:

What is Paediatric Palliative Care? Workshop

This is a single day workshop held at the Queensland Children's Hospital, with online interactive modules to be completed before attending the workshop.

Suitable for all Health Professionals in hospital and community services that provide care for seriously ill children & their families.

Overall Learning Aim: To confidently care for children with life limiting conditions and their families where they reside through a blend of eLearning and a face to face workshop.

Learning outcomes
On completion, participants will be able to:

  • understand the differences between paediatric and adult palliative care
  • identify the role of the paediatric palliative care specialty service
  • discuss physical, psychosocial, spiritual and emotional aspects of care for the child their family
  • define the role of the generalist health professional
  • identify evidence based resources in paediatric palliative care
  • recognise good communication strategies in paediatric palliative care.

When: Friday, 15th March 2024. 8am - 1630pm

Where: Queensland Children’s Hospital Auditorium, Level 7, 501 Stanley St, South Brisbane

Cost: Free, numbers will be limited to 50 participants.

Please note, BYO morning tea and lunch. Refreshments may be purchased on-site.
