The Mackay Hospital and Health Service has established the Maternity Co-Design Project which is focussed on partnering with healthcare partners, community, and staff to capture perspectives and experience, so we can shape our maternity care for the future.
It is projected that births within our region will increase over the next six years. This growing demand means that it is important that the Mackay Hospital and Health Service commence planning for the future of maternity services now.
Join the conversation and participate in our online forum. We want to hear from our healthcare partners about how we can make our maternity care the best it can be for our local women, expectant parents, and their families. The online forums will provide an opportunity for you to share your experience and perspectives, so we can shape our maternity care together for the future.
The key areas for the online forum conversations will focus on are:
- What would good maternity care look like?
- How do we provide a calm safe environment for all labour and birth, regardless of the place of birth?
- What would good communication look and feel like?
