Ngak Min Health provides comprehensive, holistic, and culturally appropriate and responsive primary health care supports and services to Djarragun College students, their families, and the wider community.

To close the gap on Indigenous health outcomes, Ngak Min Health works within the framework of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan, ensuring care is evidence-based, culturally safe, high quality, responsive, and accessible for all clients. We focus on whole-of-life, seamless and integrated care across all sectors (primary, allied, specialist, hospital). About the role

The Registered Nurse provides culturally safe services within a holistic and comprehensive culturally appropriate primary health model-of-care to achieve improved health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision acute illness or injury, prevention, early detection, chronic disease management, health promotion, support for social-emotional wellbeing by recognising and understanding the principles of The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021–2031 and National Strategic Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Mental Health and Social and Emotional Wellbeing 2017-2023.

 To be successful in this role you will need to provide proof of:

  • appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with no restrictions with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate
  • certificate of completion from one of the four HESA approved immunisation courses and must conform with the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals.

Demonstrate your experience and knowledge in:

  • demonstrated experience in working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health organisations and environments and fully embracing the concept of Aboriginal Community Control
  • demonstrated knowledge of current issues, standards, and trends in the delivery of comprehensive and holistic primary health care services and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in particular children and young people.

Toogood Medical Centre is a private billing medical centre located in the Cairns suburb of Woree. The purpose-built medical centre features 11 doctor consult rooms, a 4 bed treatment room, a private procedure room, and a stand-alone skin cancer room. Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology and a pharmacy are located onsite for patients' convenience.

Receptionist/Logistics Officer: Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Greet clients and answer incoming calls. 
  • Book appointments and manage the diary. 
  • Confirm client appointments. 
  • Receive and process referral letters.
  • Manage payments, invoicing, and receipts. 
  • Stock control. 
  • Manage client records, filing, and data entry. 
  • General administrative duties. 
  • Computer literacy in all Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Preferred experience using Halaxy or other practice management software. 

Bookkeeper: Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records for the clinic. 
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments. 
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements. 
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. 
  • Liaise with other staff members to ensure accuracy of financial data. 
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
