Level: Executive Management   Location: Cairns servicing Cape York communities Status: Full time fixed term (three years) Salary: Negotiable

About us Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service. They provide culturally appropriate, family centred, comprehensive primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.

About the opportunity The Executive Manager, Clinical Services is responsible for providing clinical leadership to ensure quality comprehensive primary health care that is evidence based and clinically safe.

It is a condition of employment for this position that the employee be vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with organisational policy requirements.

Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.

About you To be successful in this role you will have:

  • experience as a medical practitioner in the delivery of primary health care services
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
  • registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA)
  • demonstrated experience providing clinical guidance and support to a multi-disciplinary team
  • demonstrated experience in implementing clinical governance and patient safety frameworks, processes, and systems
  • understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
  • ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
