Emerging Minds have developed a free general practitioner (GP) framework for infant and early childhood mental health assessment (0-5 years) online course to equip GPs with knowledge of common child mental health conditions, strengthen their engagement skills for interacting with a child and their family, and develop practical skills for child mental health assessment and management.

GPs in Schools pilot overview
As part of the Queensland Government’s $100 million commitment for a Student Wellbeing Package, the Department of Education is conducting a pilot that will place GPs in 20 Queensland state schools in areas of greatest need across the state for one day a week.

Changes to QLD Criminal Code - Child Sexual Offences
As a courtesy, Queensland Health would like to advise that, effective 5 July 2021, Queensland’s Criminal Code Act 1899 will be amended under the Criminal Code (Child Sexual Offences Reform) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2020, to include two new offences.
