Reporting directly to Practice Principal, key responsibilities will include:

  • leadership and management of the administrative team, nursing, and medical staff
  • overseeing staff performance and the day to day running of the practice
  • ensuring continuous high standard of service delivery to patients
  • undertaking reception duties to support the team
  • accounting and banking
  • rostering, recruitment, and reporting
  • understanding of the overall General Practice policies
  • knowledge of Medicare, Online claiming processes, DVA, Workcover, Private billing, and PIP protocols
  • experience using Best Practice software
  • knowledge of Practice Accreditation
  • directing and maintaining Quality Improvement (QI) and reporting back to the practice owners.

 Selection criteria:

  • previous experience in a Practice Manager role is preferred
  • previous experience with Best Practice medical software is preferred
  • sound knowledge of medical processes, Medicare, and DVA billings is essential
  • leadership skills and excellent communication skills
  • multitasking and problem solving
  • the successful candidate should demonstrate good communication and time management skills.

Strive Health and Physiotherapy (SHP) have run a successful General Practice in the Western growth corridor of tropical Townsville, North Queensland, since 1985.

Their aim has always been to provide excellence in patient care using a patient-centred and evidence-based approach.

Their team consists of GPs, physiotherapist, nurses, and administration staff.

The role

The Senior Service Planning and Design Officer – Mental Health and AOD has responsibility for ensuring commissioned health services are tailored, comprehensive, and applicable to the needs of its users by planning and designing programs and projects that are effective and in alignment with NQPHN’s strategic objectives.

This includes:

  • providing operational support across the Commissioning portfolios to ensure planning and design initiatives are effective and achieve key strategy and operational outcomes
  • working in collaboration with other NQPHN functions to best inform Commissioning planning and the design of health services.
