Hearing Australia

Published 03 December 2020

For over 70 years, Hearing Australia has been helping Australians rediscover the joy of sound. Their goal is to keep clients connected to the people they love and the things they love to do.

Hearing Australia has primarily provided to clients that are eligible to be seen under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the Program).

There are two components to the Program:

  1. Voucher
  2. Community Services Obligations (CSO).

Hearing Australia's desire is to help all Australians receive the hearing help and advice they need.

They regularly receive referrals from GPs and are contacted by self-funded adult clients asking us to provide an option on hearing loss.

Hearing Australia is proud to advise, as of October 2020, that any clients who are not eligible under Australian Government Hearing Services Program, can now receive services under their ‘Fee for Service’ program.

Hearing Australia will do this by providing a full hearing assessment, (consultation fee applies) and if required, ongoing advice and devices suitable for individual life choices.

GPs are encouraged to continue to refer patients to Hearing Australia including all those eligible under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program and now self-funded adult clients directly.
