Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) Executive Director Health Services Commissioning Ruth Azzopardi, Health Priorities Lead Gilyan Thorn, and Integration and Partnerships Specialist Mackay Mia Sammut-Landt were out and about recently to visit with some of the health professionals, hospitals, and service providers in the Isaac region.
The Mackay regional tour took in Middlemount, Clermont, Dysart, and Moranbah, and allowed the Health Services Commissioning and Health Systems Integration and Innovation team members to understand the health landscape of the Isaac region, including gaps and needs.
Nurses, pharmacists, GPs, and other allied health professionals, and community groups in each town came together to meet with the team to discuss how they are actively working to address the healthcare challenges they face, and to share initiatives under way to enhance local access to care and improve health outcomes for residents.
