Join Northern Queensland Primary Health Network for a morning session designed to equip aged care home staff with essential knowledge and tools to provide optimal care for residents, particularly during times of crises.
This session will explore:
- valuable lessons from recent weather events and disaster scenarios, emphasising the importance of preparedness in ensuring resident safety and wellbeing
- the General Practice in Aged Care program and its impact on supporting staff to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care for older adults.
- Attendees will gain practical insights on how these initiatives positively improve service delivery and reflect upon lessons learnt for future challenges in aged care.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the impact of weather events and disaster scenarios on aged care facilities and residents, including key lessons learned and best practices for future preparedness.
- Enhance disaster response strategies, ensuring that aged care homes can better safeguard residents during emergencies.
- Assess the value and outcomes of the General Practice in Aged Care program, and how its integration has improved the overall quality of care and health comes for residents.
