Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer
Join the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer online to discuss Cancer Screening.
Australia is on track to be the first country in the world to eliminate cervical cancer – this will only happen if we address the cervical screening equity gaps for those who are under or never screened, including people with an intellectual disability.
This webinar covers:
- Cervical Screening changes effective from 1 July 2022: universal access to self-collection and what that means for you and your patients
- how to support patients with an intellectual disability to participate in cervical screening and optimise their screening experience.
Meet the Presenter
Professor Deborah Bateson (Medical Director at Family Planning NSW and Clinical Professor at The University of Sydney) has worked as a clinician, researcher, and sexual and reproductive health educator for 20+ years. She is the co-author of the National Cervical Screening Guidelines and is the Chief Investigator of the NHRMC-funded CIRCE project: 'Overcoming Inequity: Increasing Cervical Screening Participation for People with Intellectual Disability'.
The session is designed for GPs, nurses, and any other healthcare provider, with an interest in cancer screening and there is no cost to participate.
There are two CPD points available to RACGP members for each webinar. All registered participants will be sent the webinar recording after the event.
These webinars are facilitated by the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) with funding from the Victorian Department of Health and initiated with the cancer screening partners Cancer Council Victoria, BreastScreen Victoria, and the Victorian Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Organisation.
