Cairns Medicare Urgent Care Clinic GP Forum

Cairns South Medicare Urgent Care Clinic would like to invite all GPs within the Cairns area to an online forum, facilitated by Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN). This will provide an opportunity to hear more about the Urgent Care Clinic initiative, and to explore and discuss proposed referral pathways, patient management, and return of care to patient’s regular general practitioner from the Cairns South Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

Opened on Tuesday 19 December 2023, the aim of the clinic is to help reduce the pressures being experienced by the Cairns Hospital emergency department for urgent, but non-life-threatening care.

Cairns South Medicare Urgent Care Clinic and NQPHN will be providing the opportunity for GPs in Cairns to attend the online forum to ask questions relating to the roll-out of the clinic.
