Due to a number of requests from doctors across the Cairns and Hinterland region, Cairns Sexual Health (CSH) has created a step-by-step guide to becoming a registered provider of MS 2-Step.

Doctor Heather McNamee and Doctor Charlie Dixon together with a representative from the sexual health nursing and pharmacy teams are providing face-to-face and online training throughout May.

Please see the below for more information:

  1. prior to the training, visit the Marie Stopes website and register to become a provider: https://www.mariestopes.org.au/become-a-prescriber/This is a quick and simple process that will also take you through some online learning. This will greatly support the education provided by the CSH team
  2. attend a two hour training and Q and A session, either in person at Cairns Sexual Health or via zoom. The preferred day for training is a Wednesday in May (when the CSH clinic is closed) from 2pm-4pm, however there is some flexibility around this.
  3. sit in on medical termination consults with the CSH medical team. This option is available (but not compulsory) to compliment the formal training. These appointments are held all day Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

If you are interested please contact Erin McBride by email at erin.mcbride@health.qld.gov.au and nominate your preferred Wednesday in May (5, 12, or 26) to attend the training.
