Persistent pain is a common reason for a clinical encounter in primary care, with managing the needs of a person with persistent pain challenging. This Microsoft Teams event will discuss important topics with experts in their field, with participants divided into eight smaller groups to support discussion.

  • Room 1 - Accessing pain services, CPC, what's offered to patients and support/communicating with GPs.
  • Room 2 - Taking a pain history 101.
  • Room 3 - Individualising the plan. 
  • Room 4 - Treating pain without a diagnosis: a patient's perspective for pain catastrophising.
  • Room 5 - Role of emotions and unresolved trauma.
  • Room 6 - Youth and young adults in pain.
  • Room 7 - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pain.
  • Room 8 - Developing opioid guidelines for your GP practice.
