Posted Monday 25 November 2024 | Arterial Education

Please join expert guest speakers from Australia and overseas online or in person for an interactive and practice discussion on the foundations of cannabis in medicine, as well as the dosing and prescribing of medicinal cannabis in an Australian context.

The learning outcomes are:

  • discuss the history of cannabis with relation to historical medicinal use, prohibition and reinstating its medicinal value
  • describe the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), its components and its role in the physiology of other bodily systems
  • outline list of actions for common cannabinoids and terpenes
  • select the appropriate dosage form and administration of cannabis based on patient presentation/symptoms and desired outcome (i.e. duration of effect and potency)
  • outline cannabis-specific drug interactions and common side effects
  • describe the available prescribing pathways for pharmaceutical cannabis in eligible patients.

If you'd like to attend in person, register here. The event will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Maroochydore 270 Ocean Dr, Twin Waters.
