Hear and Say is Queensland's specialised provider of audiology and speech pathology for all people with hearing loss. We operate state-wide and support people of all ages - from newborn babies, to toddlers, school-age children, and adults.
An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join us in our Townsville clinic, in the role of Speech Pathologist / Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. This is a permanent role, and we are open to full-time or part-time hours.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Listening and Spoken Language, the purpose of this role is to is to provide a quality clinical program to support a range of clients (including paediatric clients) and families with assessment, diagnosis, therapy and management with a wide range of ages and communication challenges.
Key functions of this role include managing a clinical caseload, case management, therapy planning and conducting assessments and reporting whilst adhering to all quality assurance elements to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to clients. Supervision and mentoring will be provided depending on your level of experience.
The ideal candidate will be a Speech Pathologist and/or Listening and Spoken Language / Auditory-Verbal Therapist, experienced in supporting and working with a diverse range of clients (including paediatric clients), along with strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions. In addition, the successful candidate will possess:
- Technical competence – demonstrated ability in managing a complex caseload, to ensure good clinical outcomes and provide evidence-based interventions.
- Commercial and operational proficiency – demonstrated ability to drive high standards in organisation, efficiency, compliance and financial viability to support the clinicial caseload allocation.
- Leadership capability - willingness to establish new ways of working in partnership with staff and teams in a cross-functional setting and support other staff.
- Cultural contribution – ability to promote a culture that is open, agile and generous.
- Client focused – the drive to support our clients through client centred practice which aligns with our organisation strategy and purpose.
Mandatory requirements of this role include:
- Full member of Speech Pathology Australia, including current Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist qualification.
- Eligibility to clear probity checks including disability worker screening and working with children check (Blue Card / Yellow Card).
A current open driver’s licence is highly desirable, as is the ability to travel to other sites as required.
