About the role

This full-time role as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthcare Worker offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in your local community. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing culturally appropriate primary care services to Indigenous patients. Your work will focus on improving health outcomes and empowering patients to manage their wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering primary healthcare services to Indigenous patients, including health assessments, treatment and referrals.
• Providing health education and promoting prevention to support patients in managing their conditions.
• Building strong relationships with the local Indigenous community and acting as a cultural liaison.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate holistic patient care.
• Maintaining detailed patient records and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

What we're looking for

• Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar primary healthcare role, preferably within an Indigenous community.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Empathy, cultural awareness and a genuine passion for improving Indigenous health outcomes.
