Welcome to the next meeting of The Cairns Group. Meeting monthly, on the first Monday or Tuesday of each month, we welcome GPs and dentists across the region to attend  this months session in person or virtually.

We will be focusing on Oral Cancers with Peter Thomson and Dr Lars Schneider.

Oral Mucosal Disorders - From Nuisance to Life Threatening

Peter Thomson is Head of Dentistry and Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences in the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University, Australia. A UK and Australian specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Medicine, Peter is author of more than 350 research papers and two oral cancer textbooks. He is an internationally recognised authority in oncology and population health, with a particular emphasis on oral carcinogenesis, epithelial cell biology, early diagnosis and interventional management of potentially malignant disease and the prevention of cancer.

Dr Lars Schneider. Currently working as a Skin Cancer Doctor at the Redlynch Medical Centre. Living and working in Cairns for the last 13 years.
