The termination of Pregnancy Act was passed in 2018 and has been an integral step in enabling women and pregnant people safe access to termination healthcare. On 11 July 2023, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations announced from the 1 August 2023, changes will be made to the prescribing and dispensing requirements for MS-2 Step. MS-2 Step (Mifepristone and Misoprostol) is the early medical termination of pregnancy medication used in Australia.
