APNA NurseTalk - Mental health wellbeing for your patients and colleagues

Posted Friday 22 November 2024 | Northern Queensland Primary Health Network

In this NurseTalk event, you’ll improve your knowledge of mental illnesses, and support strategies. Join us for this overview and brush up on your mental health wellbeing skills to help your patients, colleagues, and community.

Every year, more than 20% of Australians experience mental health problems and the ongoing legacy of the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to last for many years to come.

As nurses, we know the important role that we can play at all stages of mental health identification, diagnosis and treatment, but many of us feel ill-equipped to deal with some of the complex issues surrounding mental health.

By taking the time to learn more about mental health, nurses can make a real difference in the lives of their patients and their community. Nurses are often the first point of contact for patients and their families, and they can provide essential support and interventions.

This event is supported by Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) and is FREE for all primary care nurses working in the NQPHN catchment. It's a great way for nurses to network, learn, discuss, and socailise.
