NAATSIHWP Supervisor Professional Development Forum Queensland

Join the National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners (NAATSIHWP) for a virtual Supervisor professional development workshop. For the first time we will be delivering a workshop specifically designed for Supervisors, Managers or anybody who would like to learn more about Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners.

We will be focusing on topics related to our workforce including:

  • What is the History of the roles?
  • What is the difference between an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Practitioner?
  • What are the professional capabilities and Continuous Professional Development requirements for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner under ATSIPBA (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Practice Board of Australia)
  • An in depth look at the qualifications, skills and knowledge for the roles.
  • Scope of Practice for the roles including an exploration of the State or Territories Medication Legislation.
  • Practical demonstration of NAATSIHWP's Scope of Practice Tool. This tool can be used to maximise your workforce's full scope of practice.
  • Models of Care
  • Medicare Provider Numbers
  • Additional Government incentives that support the implementation of the workforce.
  • Discussions on Cultural Loads.
