The stigma associated with ice means that asking for help is the hardest thing to do. The Ice Help campaign aims to reduce the fear, shame, and judgement associated with ice use by sharing real-life stories of recovery and resources available for help.

The campaign encourages help-seeking behaviour by friends and families of ice users, with the hopeful messages of help is available, recovery is possible, and help is anonymous and confidential.

The campaign directs to the Ice Help website that provides appropriate resources and services available for friends and family of ice users, ice users, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Two surveys have been developed to inform development of the workforce model; one for organisations providing palliative care services and the other focused on members of this workforce delivering palliative care services. We would be very grateful if you could complete these through the web link(s) below:

• PROVIDER SURVEY: focuses on the setting in which palliative care is provided to understand the profile of organisations delivering palliative care services, the numbers of palliative care services delivered, details of the palliative care workforce employed at each organisation and issues relating to workforce recruitment for staff delivering palliative care

• WORKFORCE SURVEY: focuses on staff currently working within the palliative workforce to understand demographic details, qualifications and experience, role, location and type of service and intentions about continuing to work in palliative care.

Confidentiality
Please note that neither you nor your organisation will be identified in any reports or papers using information that is derived from these surveys.  Your responses will be combined with those of all other respondents and the aggregated responses will form part of the overall data that will be provided to the Department of Health and will inform the workforce projections model.

Being diagnosed with lung cancer and navigating the complexities of the health system can be stressful, confusing and overwhelming for patients and their families. Research indicates that 50 per cent of Australians living with lung cancer experience distress, anxiety, and/or depression. However, only one in two patients have access to a multidisciplinary team to support them in accessing best-practice treatment, care, and support.

Lung Foundation Australia's free Lung Cancer Support Nurse telephone service aims to bridge the gap in lung cancer care and provide an additional layer of support to the care provided by health professionals. The national service provides patients with evidence-based resources, tools and information to help them navigate their diagnosis and treatment, and manage symptoms, side effects and their overall wellbeing. Through a series of telephone-based appointments, the service empowers patients, families and carers to navigate the system and work with their healthcare team to make informed choices about treatment and management.
