Showcasing Psychology in FNQ: Integration and Innovation (Day 1)

Posted Friday 29 March 2024 | FNQ Branch Australian Psychological Society

FNQ Branch Australian Psychological Society invites healthcare professionals to attend the Showcasing Psychology in FNQ: Integration and Innovation conference, which will be held over two weekends, on Sunday 14 August and Saturday 20 August 2022. See the brochure to view the agenda.

The Far North Queensland APS branch is presenting a showcase of multi-disciplinary care across the lifespan. With presenters from Psychology, Psychiatry, Neurology, Physiotherapy, and Social Work on both clinical and Research areas, this two-day conference brings together professionals from a range of disciplines exploring opportunities for professional integration and innovation.   True holistic treatment for our patients is advanced through a multidisciplinary approach in which genuine collaboration is encouraged.

The registrants will have the pleasure of hearing from some of FNQ’s leaders in integrative care and learn about the many innovative clinical interventions and unique research being carried out in Far North Queensland with First Nations peoples, older people, adults, and disadvantaged children.

The forum also represents a wonderful opportunity for registrants to network across disciplines and areas of speciality. Let’s celebrate the benefits of being genuinely holistic in care and encouraging greater continuity of care in all arenas but particularly across disciplines and between hospital and community.

Registrants will learn how many of the trauma treatments share common pathways; how research can be done with First Nations Peoples in innovative ways; and finally, registrants will have the benefits of integration and collaboration across health professions to enhance outcomes.
