Sexual assault, disclosure, response, and referral pathway

The Women’s Centre and Sexual Assault Response Team in collaboration with Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN), invite general practitioners, practice nurses, and practice managers to attend an education session on sexual assault disclosure, response, and the referral pathway.

Training topics

• Understanding the prevalence and driving factors behind sexual violence.
• Responding to disclosures of sexual assault.
• Sexual assault within intimate partner violence.
• Sexual assault and strangulation.
• Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
• Referral pathway to SART.
• Support options for victim-survivors of sexual violence.
• Forensic examinations for victim-survivors of sexual assault.
• Police investigations and their role in SART.
• Sexual Health follow up.
