Cairns Head to Health Co-design Workshop

Posted Monday 25 November 2024 | Northern Queensland Primary Health Network

Cairns Head to Health is a new approach to supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. The service provides a 'no wrong door' free service for people experiencing a mental health challenge, living with a mental illness, or wanting support for drug and alcohol matters.

Cairns Head to Health will provide a safe and welcoming space for people to receive information, treatment, and support. It will be a free service, with no appointment or referral needed. You can find more information about Head to Health here.

To ensure this service meets the needs of the Cairns community we are holding community consultation sessions to ensure the service meets the local needs. Cairns Head to Health is a joint initiative of Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) and Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS).

Who should attend?

  • People with their own lived experience. We define Lived Experience as people, along with their significant others, who have experienced or have directly supported someone experiencing mental health challenges, thoughts of suicide, survived a suicide attempt or experienced drug and alcohol troubles.
  • Service providers from the mental health and drug and alcohol sectors.
  • GPs and other primary care clinicians.
  • Social service providers.

Any other member of the Cairns community who is interested in mental health and wellbeing.
